Tangent HO ICC Erie Bay Window Caboose Delaware & Hudson “Simplified Repaint” w/ Lights

D&H “Simple Repaint 1980+ Era” w/Interior Lights, Lit Marker Lights & Lit FRA Flasher mimics another great example of a specific Delaware & Hudson caboose. Three of the Erie Lackawanna 1953 ICC cabooses were transferred to D&H in 1976, numbered DH 35805-35807. This Tangent model shows how D&H 35806 appeared in its 1980+ configuration. This caboose features a bright red body with white Delaware & Hudson lettering and the classy D&H logo, which is owned by the Delaware & Hudson Railway Historical Society. Painted in 1980 by the D&H Oneonta, NY car shop, this scheme features an era-accurate COTS box and U-1 Inspection dot. Along the way, this particular caboose received new end doors and a sealed door windows, carefully duplicated on the Tangent model. The model rides in Tangent’s All-New General Steel Casting “Express” trucks with 33″ standard .110” tread CNC wheels. The caboose has a fully-painted light gray interior, including D&H’s specific addition of a Fuel oil bunker and CABAN oil heater. For lighting, this D&H 35806 is equipped with “golden” interior lights, mimicking the incandescent bulbs of the real cabooses along with side (green in both directions!) marker light boxes and flashing (red!) end FRA lights. Notice the FRA light is offset to the left of the daytime red reflective disc, just like this exact prototype.
