Moloco Trains manufactures highly detailed HO scale model railroad freight cars. Nick Molo founded the company to focus on specific prototypes often overlooked by larger manufacturers. The brand targets “finescale” modelers who prioritize extreme accuracy and intricate part counts.

The company is best known for its series of 50-foot insulated boxcars, including the Santa Fe Bx-97 and General American RBL models. These cars feature road-specific details like prototype-accurate handbrakes, underframe cushioning devices, and rubber air hoses. Moloco also produces unique rolling stock such as the “Brainerd” double-door boxcars and Fruit Growers Express reefers. Their models arrive ready-to-run with metal wheelsets and Kadee scale-head couplers.
