Prototype Information

The NCTD SPRINTER provides modern, clean and quiet, diesel-powered commuter service in Northern San Diego County. It connects with trains of Amtrak’s Surfliner, plus commuter services of Metrolink and the Coaster. These new PIKO articulated models feature interior details and lights, as well as directional lighting. A typical Sprinter consist would have two road numbers coupled together.
