53' Dry Container

Prototype Information

CIMC began production of the 53-foot Corrugated Dry Container in the early 2000s. These units appear on nearly every domestic intermodal train across North America today. The design features seven square nose corrugations with blank panels at the top and bottom. Each container also includes a standard document box for manifest paperwork.

The side walls utilize an 8-58-8 square corrugation pattern for structural strength. This configuration allows for efficient stacking in intermodal well cars. These containers serve as the backbone of domestic shipping for consumer and industrial goods. Their durable steel construction ensures a long service life in high-traffic rail corridors.
