Atlas (N)

Atlas is a cornerstone of the N scale market. Founded in New Jersey in 1924, this family-owned company helped pioneer the scale in North America. Today, it produces a vast range of locomotives, rolling stock, and track systems.

The brand organizes its products into several quality levels. The Master line serves as the flagship. These models feature high levels of prototype detail and road-specific parts. Many locomotives include factory-installed sound and DCC decoders. The Classic line uses older, reliable tooling with slightly less detail. For budget-conscious modelers, the Trainman line offers rugged equipment with molded-on details.

Atlas is also famous for its nickel silver track systems. The Code 80 track is exceptionally durable. it works with almost all N scale equipment, including older models with larger wheel flanges. The Code 55 track features a lower rail profile and finer ties. This design provides a more realistic appearance for modern modelers. Both systems offer a wide variety of turnouts, crossings, and flexible track sections.

Beyond trains and track, Atlas produces building kits, signals, and electrical components. Their catalog remains a primary resource for hobbyists of all skill levels.
