Aeroflo Coal Gondola
Prototype Information
These interesting cars were developed by Johnstown in the mid to late 1980’s, and are often regarded as the lightest coal gondolas. The Aeroflo was replaced by the Aeroflo II, where the slope sides were open more like a normal hopper. Part of the design of the prototype was to reduce aerodynamic drag.
