Description
Railroad Short Name: Erie
Erie Railroad (ERIE) “Delivery Red 1953” w/ Interior Lights and Lit End Lanterns replicates the as-delivered ERIE paint scheme and configuration from International Car Corporation. The carbody is painted “Safety Red” with a black roof, bottom sill and underframe. This is an incredibly sharp paint scheme with the ‘RADIO EQUIPPED” lightning bolts flanking the bay window – and it screams 1950s railroading. The rooftop running board is unpainted (silver). Check out that wagon wheel antenna and ground plane on the roof, along with tiny elbow vent pipes. The underside is packed with details like full brake rigging, battery box, toilet dump pipe and a low hanging generator with cabling and axle belt. The ends feature an accurate Miner brake wheel. The model rides in Tangent’s All-New General Steel Casting “Express” trucks with 33″ standard .110” tread CNC wheels. Notice the Repack data is stenciled on the right hand truck face, a neat little detail applied by ICC Kenton. The caboose has a fully-painted green and black ICC applied interior. For lighting, this Tangent ERIE model is equipped with “golden” interior lights, mimicking the incandescent bulbs of the real cabooses along with lit corner lanterns with red and green lenses on one end.
