Description
Railroad Short Name: GACX
GACX “BNSF Patch 2010” is one of two BN/BNSF patch-out offerings in this run of Trinity 4750s and are in general lease service. These cars are former BNSF swoosh cars that were patched out. These models are interesting because they mimic GATX’s patching of the BNSF reporting marks and logos, however they retain most of the other data. We offer a muted carbody color and a fresh paint patch out. We also mimic GATX’s treatment of the grab irons, where they painted the grab irons on the sides and ends of the car white in a nod to rail employee safety. These cars are formerly BN cars built in 1994. These cars have the “bolt on” outlet gate design that was found on some of the Trinity 4750 prototypes. Up on the roof of the cars is a carbody red painted galvanized “slope up” Morton-design running board, and the fiberglass trough hatches that BNSF applied are replicated on our model. The ends of the cars include straight-handle coupler lift bars, separate brake wheel, etch metal Morton crossover platforms, and flexible rubber trainline air hoses.
