50' Berwick Box Car

Prototype Information

The 50′ Berwick box car was introduced in the 1970s by the Berwick Forge & Fabricating Corporation of Berwick, Pennsylvania. Designed as a modern high-cube boxcar, it featured a distinct exterior post construction, smooth sides, and was often equipped with 10′ sliding or plug doors to handle general freight and paper products.

These cars became popular with railroads and leasing companies due to their light weight and increased internal volume.
