Description

Railroad Short Name: NH

The Rapido Trains Pullman-Standard Fluted-Side 48-Seat Diner is based on cars built by P-S for New Haven at its former Osgood Bradley plant in Worcester, Massachusetts in 1949. The fluted stainless steel cars operated on first-class trains such as The Merchant’s Limited and The Yankee Clipper. NH dining service was popular with riders and some trains carried a pair of diners in a single consist. The diners were named for prominent New England historical figures.

This Pullman-Standard Fluted-Side 48-Seat Diner features:

  • Designed from original blueprints
  • Correct tubular cross-section
  • Full interior with tables, kitchen and tablecloths
  • Full underbody detail
  • Stainless steel finish
  • Car skirts as appropriate for each roadname
  • Factory-installed grab irons, end gates and working diaphragms
  • Appropriate 61-BNO-11 trucks with blackened metal wheels
  • Equipped with track-powered interior lighting for DCC or DC
  • Macdonald-Cartier metal magnetic knuckle couplers
