Designed to speed loading and unloading, these bigger cars entered service in the 1980s and quickly became a favorite with shippers and customers. These nicely detailed models are based on earlier cars built with more open cut-outs on the centerbeam to reduce overall weight, which are still in service with a wide range of railroads and lumber producers.
