Introduced in 1954 with the more powerful 567C prime mover, with only minor exterior changes from earlier E8 Diesels. Handling premiere passenger train, several later went to work for Amtrak with others reassigned to commuter and fast freight service. As the last of their kind, several E9s have since been preserved. Superbly detailed and powered by the rugged and reliable Walthers Proto drive.
